It is Nice

So I never thought I would say this but I miss Greeley. I have had a wonderful time in France but it is nice to sleep in my own bed. It is nice to drive a car. It is nice to eat American food. It is nice to see my friends. It is nice to pay in dollars. It is just nice. Even with all that said Paris was an amazing experience like no other but 5 weeks can get a little tough at times. I will never forget the amazing summer that I have had. If you or anyone you know has a chance to do something like this than seize that opportunity. Don't make excuses and remember you are only young once.
Off to Bed,

PS Sorry this is short I just got home and boy am I tired.

Heading South

So after Paris, I headed on down south in France to Provence where I got to stay with some family friends. This was a big change from the large city of Paris. It was almost like life slowed down a bit and that was nice. We stayed in a small village of about a 1000 people. It had everything you needed: restaurants, supermarket, ATM, and a great church. Here in this small town I finally got to relax from all the hustle and bustle of Paris. After that we took a trip to Nice, France. This town was even father south producing great weather. I had a wonderful time experiencing a change from Paris. Now I will leave you with a short video of my time in Provence. It has a few shots from the local market, around the village and wine country.
Thanks,

Goodbye to Paris

So I left Paris last week but I have not had time to post a final goodbye. So here it goes. I have had the time of my life in Paris. I did not know what to expect when I arrived. I also arrived on bad terms with losing my wallet. Even through these bad times, Paris still delivered. Through the bad times and the good times Paris was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had in my whole life. I would recommend this trip to anyone. I have a little video I put together. It shows all the clips that I acquired while in Paris. You will see some clips of the Metro, Napoleon's Tomb, Notre Dome, and streets around Paris. Hope you enjoy and always leave comments.

Monster Energy, Anyone?

Sorry I have not been able to update my blog. I have been working on a project for school. This has kept me tied down to my room and my group members. My group members and I have been asked to export an American product to an European country. We decided to export Monster Energy Drink. We feel that Europe is growing in the energy drink market. We plan on bringing it to France. France is the fastest growing country in the energy drink market and they also have very few competitors. This is provides a very healthy market for Monster Energy. Well I should get back to working on the project. I also would like to hear if anybody has any ideas for products they think would do well in Europe. Post in the comments.
Keep on Keeping on,

The Magic Shrinking Wallet

So I just bought a new wallet due to the fact that my other one was stolen. I think that I got a broken one. This wallet tends to eat money. It is magical and continues to shrink.

According to CNN.com, Paris is the 13th most expensive city in the world. This reality is hard to face for someone from a small town. When traveling in Paris expect to spend a lot of money; I have just gotten used to it. First off, things cost much more than in the US and they tend to come in a smaller portions. On an average day, you can expect to spend about 8 euros on a breakfast that consists of a small pastry and a drink. Lunch will cost a little more around 10 euros. This is a drink and a grec sandwich (pretty much a gyro). For a nice meal, dinner will run you 25 euros. This includes a drink and a 3 course meal. If you dare, you can go out and have drinks after dinner. Each mixed drink will run you about 10 euros a peice. Beer will range from 4 euro to about 10 euro depending on size. This will come out to about 50 euros for a whole day of going out and about. That is a lot of money but, when you take the exchange rate into account that is a lot more. It is roughly 70 dollars. This a little high because you can eat some of those meals in your room but there are days when that is just not possible. Many people on the trip have complained about prices but it is something you have to deal with.

Runing Low on Money,
WillyD

Champagne Anyone?

On Wednesday we went to Champagne country. We started with a train ride on one of the worlds fastest train. Waiting there was a town with an amazing church and Veuve Clicquot Champagne. Veuve Clicquot is a champagne company that has been around since the 1700's. Apong arriving we got to take a tour of the Veuve Clicquot factory. We got to go down into the caves to tour the Champagne making process. The caves were used as a bomb shelter in World War I. Then we got to do a tasting of their Champanges. It was very good. The best Champagne I have ever tasted. Then we went into town to check out a cathedral. Many French kings have been crowned there. It was amazing. Had some of the best stained glass I have seen. The picture to the left is of the hallway in the church. Overall I had a great time and was something of a wonderful experience. Please check out the video and make some comments.

The Catacombs

Sorry that this took so long to get up. On Sunday we went to the Catacombs. This is an underground final resting point for roughly 6 million people. In the 1700's many people where getting sick due to dead bodies that died due to the plague. So, they decided to move the dead to the underground Catacombs. The Catacombs is one of the creepiest place I have ever been. It is about six to seven stories underground. On the way down, you think that the stairs will never end. Once in the Catacombs, it is very cold. We had to make our down a long dark hallway. Then we came upon a room with small buildings and a wishing well. Next, we entered into the area where the dead bodies where located. The walls were made from bones. It was very scary. Overall I would recommend the Catacombs to anyone. The only problem I had is that I am a little claustrophobic in such a small area. Well check out the Video.

Marketing?

So tomorrow I have my first European Marketing class. I am a little excited. I hope that it will be a lot of fun. The first two weeks consited of a management class. It was very different from any class I have taken at MCB. The hours are much longer as expected due to time constraints but, has not been hard compared to classes at MCB. I will post a little more about my class as I know more. Tomorrow I will try to post a video from the trip to the Catacombs.
Check You Later,

Rain in Versailles

So we tried to go to Versailles yesterday. We went and bought the 5 euro train ticket to get there. Then we rode the train all the way there. Got out and it started to rain. So we decided to not buy the 20 euro ticket to enter the palace and just go it lunch. From what I saw it looked amazing. I am really excited to go back and get some pictures and video. We plan on going back on Monday if the weather is good. So look for a new video.
Peace Out,
WillyD

Musee du Louvre

So last week our class got to go to the Louvre. Amazing place. It is more than just the Mona Lisa. To tell you the truth I did not even see the Mona Lisa. The Louvre was built on an old castle in Paris. There was a lot people but a very pretty site to see. Check out the video. I thought the kid at the end was funny. Comments please. Tomorrow I am trying to go to Versailles. Look for a video in the future.
See Ya,

Amsterdam!

So last weekend a group of students and I traveled to Amsterdam. Amsterdam is a place like no other. I was not planning on going there but a groups of students went so I decided to tag alone. I am glad that I went, I had a blast. It is very different than any other place I have been. I have not seen so many bikes in my life.(see video) I also got to go to the Anne Frank house. I would recommend this to anyone. Very moving.

Money Money Money!

I officially have money. This is a great feeling to once again become independent. It is hard to try to depend on other people. I now do not have to wait on other people for money. I got to use my new debit for the first time yesterday. Felt great.
I will post again soon,

Size Does Matter

Upon arriving in Paris, we went straight to our room. I new that it was going to be small but not this small. The room is tiny. We have no room to do anything except sleep. The room is located on the 12th floor so the view is very nice.(see video) It will do since we have not spent no time in the room except to sleep. Check out the video to get a good idea on the size.
Till Next time,
WillyD

What Time is It?

One thing that I have started to notice here in Paris is that nothing starts on time. Class is supposed to start at 9:30 but here we are at 10:00 and we still have not started. This is not really a bad thing but just a cultural difference from America. In America, classes start right on time. Here in Paris we kind of talk then start when we fell like it. They refer to this as Paris time.
See You Next Time,
WillyD
P.S. I will be updating the blog a lot more. Sorry the past week has been hectic.

"Dude Where Is My Wallet?"

When you arrive in Paris you think that you are invincible. You think that nothing could go wrong. Well the wrong has just happened to me. In the airport I was the victim of a stolen wallet. First thing that crosses the mind is fear. The fear overwhelms you makes you wish that you have never come but, I was not going to let this little mishap destroy an amazing trip. All of my friends have been so helpful. This has been an learning experience but I would not change a thing. Sorry that this post is so quick but I am still trying to find out how I will get some money. I hope to post a more official post in the near future. Look out for a video in the near future. And always feel free to post comments and questions.

High Defintion!!

So I just got a new camcorder for the trip. I am so excited about this. It records in high definition. I hope to take many videos on trip to document where I have been. I am starting to get a little nervous about being gone for so long but it will be a little bit relaxing before I have to come back and start my job in the fall. I have not even started to pack so I better get on that but in the mean time I will leave you with a short video that I took with my new camera. This will be a preview of what is to come. If you want the full HD version click on the link on the side of the video.
Till Next Time,
